Laser friendly acrylic sheet is also commonly referred to as Perspex.  It is suitable for a wide range of applications, and therefore, acrylic is perfect for the home hobbyist, school projects and Laser machines.

Without a doubt, this material is favoured for its durability and strength. At the same time, it is weather resistant and has the ability to maintain its colour. Another key point is laser friendly acrylic sheets are known for their ability to engrave well and can hold fine details. The engraved areas typically have a frosted white appearance, adding a distinctive touch.

As well as being suitable for Laser Engraving & Cutting, acrylic is also suitable for Traditional Engraving and CNC Router Cutting. Moreover, these acrylic sheets can be sawn and drilled, making them convenient for use in various applications.

Laser cutting recommendation

I have a Ortur diode laser with a 5.5w diode. The black acrylic cuts just fine at 250mm/min at 100% with 5 passes.
I also bought some blue acrylic but a diode laser with blue diode will not cut anything with the same settings as the black acrylic.
